In 2012, I Wrote Two Books to Get Clients. 
I Ended Up With More Clients than I Could Handle.

For over 100 years, books have been one of the most consistent and predictable client-getting assets you can use to grow a business. 

Books can help establish your authority as an expert. They can help you grow an audience. They can help you nurture readers and guide them toward your services, coaching, courses, and more. 

I started offering my services as a copywriter and marketing consultant in 2007. I noticed all of the “gurus” I looked up to had a book, so I wrote my own book to establish my authority (two of them actually).

The first two non-fiction books I wrote brought in 4335 sales in 8 months.
Back then, I didn’t even use The One Book Millions Method I’m about to give you for $4.99. I just put these books on Amazon and sold them the “hard way.” The method I’m about to show you is even more effective at selling books and turning readers into clients. 
Back in 2012, I sold these books the hard way (I’m about to share an easier method to sell books and turn readers into clients). 

I put the books on Amazon. I begged for reviews. I wrote a ton of blog posts. I tried to get on guest blogs, podcasts, email list shares, and more. That’s why it took 8 months to sell just 4335 copies. 

I only “made” $9,060.15 from book sales in the first 8 months. 

But, as a result of those sales, I ended up with more clients than I could handle (better clients too… clients I had only dreamed about working with before). 

By the end of 2015, my copywriting agency ended up working with over 1,000 different clients. And, with the help of these two books, the clients they helped bring in, and the audience they helped me build, I was able to work with amazing “dream clients” like Russell Brunson, Mel Robbins, SUCCESS Magazine, Bill Glazer, Brendon Burchard and many others. 

Fast forward to 2018, just over one year into my first coaching business…

In 2018, I Replaced My Webinar with a 68-Page Book and Scaled My Coaching Business to 7+ Figures/Year

By 2018, I was running a coaching business, helping freelance writers launch their careers.

To get coaching clients, I did what everyone else was doing:
  • Webinars
  • VSL Funnels
  • Freebie Lead Magnets
  • ​And Product Launches to Help w/ Revenue
These methods were “working.” But they weren’t scaling. It required too much effort to keep them working.

Before I Replaced My Webinars, VSLs, and Freebies with a Book, My Business Was Stuck at $60k-$70k Month (and I Was Stuck “In” My Business) 

Back in 2018, the cost to run a webinar or VSL and get a quality prospect on the phone with my sales team was rising rapidly. 

My coaching business was doing $60k/mo consistently. But to stay there, I had to move in dozens of different directions at once. 

I ended up trapped in a constant cycle of launches, new marketing objectives, content creation and chaos. 

I was living in my business all the time. Pulling my hair out. Sacrificing my health and time with my family. 

I Replaced It All With a Book.

I stopped doing freebie webinars, giving away lead magnets and having my team hustle on social media to get clients. 

I was done trying to grow a business with freebie seekers. I was tired of having to worry about cost per call and call quality. I was tired of giving up my free time to reinvent my marketing every few months. 

So, I wrote a short book called The 90 Day Writer.
The book was just 68 pages long.

It was written in a specific style that delivered value to my readers, introduced my offers and services, and answered objections about those offers. It took just days to write. 

Then, I tossed that short book in a marketing funnel that sold 150+ copies per day at 1.75x ROAS (return on ad spend) BEFORE any sales of my coaching program. 

Next, I invited those book buyers to book a call with me so I could offer them my premium coaching offers and services. I used automated email follow-ups to get the job done.
I got an award for selling $1,000,000 worth of books. Cool. 
Sales call quality improved. The quality of my coaching clients improved. My ability to help and serve my clients improved.
Fast forward a few months and my business grew from $60,000/mo to more than $350,000/mo with more than 60% margins. 

And I no longer had to “live” in my business 24/7/365 to make it work. 

For the first time in my 10+ year entrepreneurship career, I was able to take a long vacation while my business grew without me.

On January 7th of 2021, I launched a funnel that used a book to bring customers into my business.

22 days after launch, I’d spent $30,510.15 on running ads to the funnel, and made $99,087.30 in revenue (counting funnel sales + back end offer sales).

Just a couple days later (after a few quickie emails to book readers saying “I’m looking for clients”), and by the end of the month, I’d spent $36,154.67 on running ads to the funnel, and made $141,108.68 in revenue (counting funnel sales + back end offer sales).
